Team CP3 and Portland BC turned out to be a tough opening matchup for the EYBL newcomers out of Oregon.

While things started off even and formidable, CP3 soon got into their usual groove, and began putting their stamp on the contest.

If you've ever watched Team CP3 play, regardless of age group, you would observe that they play a very uptempo type of game.

And they play a lot of defense.

Once a team misses the shot, or the ball is turned over, CP3 is off to the races. After the first few minutes of play, they got into their niche and started to pull away. CP3 would enjoy a 13 point halftime cushion, leading by a score of 37-24.

PBC didn't play poorly in the first half, they just didn't have as many options as their opponent. Roberto Gittens was steady for PBC, scoring nine of the team's 24 points in the half. Gittens has good size on the wing and is athletic, holding the ability to score from a number of spots.

Team CP3 didn't let up, and didn't allow Gittens to be a factor in the second half, holding him to two points.  As a result, PBC had a tough time executing much else on offense. Their missed field goals and turnovers began to translate into more and more points for Team CP3 in transition.

The CP3'ers would runaway with the second half, and dominated PBC unmercifully, as they cruised to a very convincing win.

They played their style of basketball to perfection, and got off to a great start for the first session.

Guard Coby White led the team with 19 points in the victory, while teammates Hunter Tyson and Jaylen Hoard contributed 14 points and 12 points respectively in the effort.
