Team CP3's leader dominates once again, earns himself session four MVP

“He’s simply a winner.”

That was Alterique Gilbert’s response when questioned about his teammate Harry Giles.

When looking at his entire body of work, it might perfect way to describe him.

Team CP3’s unabashed leader earned himself EYBL Minneapolis Most Valuable Player, spearheaded by another set of ultra-impressive performances and most importantly – the EYBL Regular Season Championship.

CP3 ended the season 15-2, finishing 4-0 after a hard-fought loss to the NY Lightning to open the session. Giles was special in all five games, putting up averages of 20.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.2 steals. The 6-foot-11 Giles made an impact in just about every facet of the game, highlighted by his best performance of the year in the season finale.

Needing a win to secure the Regular Season Championship, Giles and CP3 faced off against Philly’s finest Team Final. After a back-and-forth affair, the game came down to two free throws with .2 seconds left, and Mr. Giles at the line. ESPN’s No. 2 ranked recruit in the 2016 class calmly knocked down both free throws, adding to his beastly stat line and keeping CP3’s hopes of a championship alive.

CP3 pulled out the win in overtime, riding an eye-popping stat line from their star: 29 points, 20 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals. The win and performance put a stamp on CP3’s season-long dominance and secured the MVP for Giles in session four.

Alterique Gilbert and Darnell Rogers, the two point guards for CP3, raved about playing with Giles. Aside from his natural talent and work ethic, Giles brings more value in his intangibles.

“The best thing about playing with Harry is he’s always vocal on the court directing people,” Rogers explained. “It just makes my job a lot easier as the point guard. He always checks me if I’m slacking, and I do the same to him.”

Giles’ leadership is evident after watching him play for five minutes. His passion for the game never wanes and he utilizes a motor that elite recruits normally lack.

Gilbert knows that whenever he shares the floor with Giles, he has a chance to win. Also a nationally ranked recruit, Gilbert gets the first-hand opportunity to see the impact Giles has on the game. Team CP3 is the betting favorite in the upcoming Peach Jam, and Gilbert understands why.

“He just wins,” Gilbert said bluntly. “He loves to compete and we all know he can get it done in a variety of ways.”

“He does whatever it takes.”
